Writing is a compulsion but it helps keep me sane-ish. I was lucky enough to work where I could use that compulsion to write and produce more than twenty young adult dramas, an energizing and fulfilling enterprise. Lately I've managed to finish seven books which are awaiting publication. I discovered flash fiction and got published in online magazines like Spark, The Fairy Tale Magazine (formerly Enchanted Conversation), Funny Pearls, and Ligonier Valley Writers as well as several print anthologies. My latest publication can be found in Chicken Soup for the Soul's I Can't Stop Laughing issue.

Living in six states and three countries, immersed in middle school culture for longer than I would care to mention provided rich fodder for my writer's imagination. Nowadays, I mine those experiences to weave my stories of hope and glory from a picturesque small town straight from a cozy romance in my home state of South Carolina.
