A Language Like No Other

This summer I had the opportunity to travel to France and research more about the Basque country for the second of my regency romances, whose working title is Foster’s Quest. Part of the story concerns the Battle of the Nive which took place near Bayonne, France. Visiting the city, I was able to get a feel for the topography of the area as well as visit the Basque Museum in Bayonne. The fascinating culture of the ancient Basque people is laid out beautifully in the museum and gave me a much better understanding of the rich heritage of the region and its people who are united more by their unique language than by geography. And the food is outstanding.
