Detours to Discoveries

An accident blocking your normal route to work leads you into unexpected byways, places you never would have taken the time to see, much less explore. Suddenly you're forced to navigate through foreign territory, pay attention to your surroundings, get new insights and directions to reach your goal.

Life can be a lot like that. You're going along, following your normal routine when, BAM! something forces you to stop and reassess. You look around and observe things differently. You take time to evaluate where you are and how you got there. How can you get back on track? Are you still headed toward your destination? Maybe it's time to pick a new one and figure out if there's different adventure you could be part of.

A new year is the perfect time to appreciate the bumps in the road that push us out of our ruts and learn to embrace an unknown future. Look at the hiccups in life as adventures and opportunities that reveal unique perspectives on what's important, what we really want, and then, "Road trip!"
