Every Good Gift Comes from God

Our lists are long, yet time and time again I've proven that I don't really know what I want or need. I suspect none of us knows what will bring us lasting joy or fulfillment. God does. How much better to ask for Him to answer our asking with the things He has in mind, tailored expressly for us, the things He knows will bring out our best selves and benefit not only us, but others. It boils down to trust, I think, and I have learned just how untrustworthy my thoughts and emotions are. Experiences, both bitter and beautiful have taught me time and again how completely trustworthy God is, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable some of His decisions for us may seem at the time.
